There are many different types of health insurance coverage. Your responsibilities as a patient depend on the contract between you and your insurance company and whether or not Piedmont Ear, Nose & Throat Associates (PENTA) has a contract with your insurance company. PENTA has contracts with many but not all insurance companies. Please check your provider manual to make sure our physicians are included. Below is an alphabetical listing of insurance companies with which PENTA currently has contracts:
Aetna ( aetna.com ) Co-pays The majority of insurance plans today require the patient to pay co-pays for office visits. The co-pay amount is listed on your insurance card. The co-pay is part of the contract between the insurance company, the doctor, and the patient. The doctor is required by the insurance company to collect the co-pay from the patient. PENTA, therefore, requires payment of your co-pay at the time of your visit, and it will be collected when you check in for your appointment. Insurance Filing If PENTA has a contract with your insurer, PENTA will file your insurance claim. If not, you will be required to pay for your visit. Our staff will provide you with a claim form, and it will be your responsibility to send the claim to your insurance company. The insurance company will then reimburse you. PENTA will file all insurance claims for surgical procedures if the procedure is covered by your insurance plan. If you have any questions regarding your insurance coverage, please do not hesitate to call our office. PENTA employs a Managed Care Liaison to help you understand your insurance plan and act as an intermediary between you and your insurance company. |
